Massage

Why massage is important? Massage is important for many reasons.  It increases the blood flow around the body which releases and stimulates the nervous and lymphatic systems, helps to release built up toxins stress and anxiety.  Massage promotes health and well being.  Having regular massage produces fewer sick days as the body is more subtle and relaxed decreasing tension and working at a more optimum level.

In today’s society where it is not politically correct to touch anyone anymore, we as a whole are missing what is important for our health and well being and that is to feel and touch another human being.  The body’s cells communicate with each other and many messages and feelings are transferred by touch.  Having a massage allows the client to receive fully the energy that is being given by the practitioner.  They then are able to fully enjoy the relaxed state and can let their mind drift off into a place of peace.  It is a time that they can completely receive all the benefits that a massage gives.

What are the benefits of a massage?  Having a massage is very beneficial as energy is being passed through to the cells from the therapist to the client. The benefits of being touched and stimulated are very healthy as it relaxes tight muscle and releases tension from the repetitive use or from stressful situations.

Massage tones and stimulates the muscles as the therapist kneads and manipulates each muscle, working the stress and tension from them.  Therapeutic massage cannot increase muscle strength but it can tone and assist in the recovery from injury and illness as well as for relaxation.

What conditions can be helped by therapeutic massage?  An increasing number of research studies shows massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves the range of motion and increases endorphins (enhancing medical treatment).  Relieves stress, improves posture, strengthens and improves the immune system, enhances and reduces recovery time in medical conditions and for post operative and post trauma rehabilitation.
